2022, Stoneware and Memorabilia

I created this piece as a way to process the move from one phase of life to another. In high school dance took up most of my time. As I got older it began to wear me down in unexpected ways. Although it was my main form of artistic expression, I had to take a step back. In college I found ceramics, and that became one of my new favorite outlets. I realized it was, in a way, taking the place in my life that dancing held for so long. This piece is a way for me to memorialize that time in my life, while accepting the fact that I had moved on.
