2023, Oil Paint on Family Quilt

This piece exists because of my mother. I asked important people in her life to describe her using one or two adjectives. They also were asked to send in pictures or memories with her. After receiving my materials from siblings, parents, and friends, I worked on creating some sketches and linear designs. It took me a while to create some symbols and designs I thought represented her as a person. Each column represents a different identity. The leftmost: childhood; middle: motherhood, right: life as a believer in Christ.
